FUND HIGHLIGHTS
Born in North Cobalt and Latchford, Hope and Pat were true Northerners all of their lives. Pat felt that Northern Ontario was the best place in the world to live, work and raise a family.
Neither Hope nor Pat were able to complete high school due to family circumstances and they wanted their children to have an educational advantage. Their family plan included ensuring their children went on to post secondary education. Their family includes 8 children and 18 grandchildren, who have collectively earned over 38 degrees and professional designations.
Hope and Pat’s children wanted to see this learning legacy continue after Pat’s passing in 2007, so they established a bursary fund in their parent’s name. This Fund grants two bursaries every year to graduates of TDSS and ESCSM pursuing post-secondary education.
