The Temiskaming Foundation Welcomes New Development and Outreach Coordinator

On behalf of the Temiskaming Foundation (TTF), Executive Director Brigid Wilkinson is pleased to announce the hiring of Julia Bigelow to the position of Development and Outreach Coordinator. “We are delighted to have Julia join our team, applying her passion for volunteerism and dedication to this community to our organization”, said Brigid Wilkinson, Executive Director.

Julia previously worked at the Temiskaming Foundation as a Vital Signs Intern, where she played a key role in developing our first Vital Signs report. As the Development and Outreach Coordinator, Julia will be responsible for strengthening community relationships, developing fundraising initiatives, continuing the Vital Signs project and enhancing the foundation’s outreach efforts to better serve the Temiskaming area.

“I am very excited about this opportunity to apply my background in philanthropy and nonprofit leadership to a local foundation that helps our community flourish,” said Julia Bigelow.  “I look forward to continuing the advancement of the Vital Signs project and learning from the Temiskaming Foundation, its board and committees.”

“As our Vital Signs Intern, Julia showed excellent promise, and we are very happy to have the opportunity to hire her back full-time in this newly created position”, said Lynne Bernier, Treasurer, Board of Directors.

About Julia Bigelow

Julia recently graduated from the Master of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership (MPNL) program through Carleton University. This program is the only graduate curriculum in Canada that offers specialized skills for professionals working in the philanthropic and nonprofit sector. Through this degree, she completed in an internship placement as a donor prospect researcher with the Ottawa Humane Society development team. She is excited to apply what she has learned from this degree to the work being done by the Temiskaming Foundation.

Julia also volunteers locally with Northern Animals Rescue and Sanctuary. As a member of the Adoptions Committee, she spends a lot of her free time matching dogs to their forever homes. Julia has a genuine passion for our community; both the people and animals in it.
