First-Ever Temiskaming Volunteer Symposium to Connect and Strengthen Local Volunteers

HAILEYBURY, ON — The Temiskaming Foundation and the Temiskaming Shores & Area Chamber of Commerce are excited to announce the first-ever Temiskaming Volunteer Symposium, taking place Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Northern College’s Haileybury Campus.

The full-day event is designed to bring together volunteers, nonprofit organizations, community groups, board members and anyone interested in strengthening volunteerism across the Temiskaming region.

The symposium will feature a full day of educational workshops from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., followed by a Volunteer Fair from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

“During the day, we will have peer lead workshops on Event Planning, Volunteer Management, Social Media Marketing & Board Governance, as well as a Funders Forum”, said Brigid Wilkinson, TTF Executive Director. “Local volunteers will be sharing their experience and expertise, provided relevant, practical advice.”

“We are excited that almost 20 organizations have registered for the public Volunteer Fair,” noted Carrie Graham, TSACC Executive Director. “If you are looking for volunteer opportunities, this is your one stop shop to connect directly with local organizations, and if you are looking for volunteers, there is still time to register!”
